HORIBA MIRA
Senior Engineer in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, HORIBA MIRA.
With a background in aerospace and control, Alejandro has been able to transfer skills into the CAV domain and developed a deep expertise in simulation, criticality metrics and scenario selection. Alejandro will discuss some of the key methods to improve and accelerate the V&V of ADAS/AD in the context of scenario-based testing.
About this presentation
The scenario-based testing approach requires a very high number of scenarios for the Verification and Validation (V&V) of ADAS/AD. Each logical scenario is defined by multiple parameters with multiple possible values, resulting in a dimensionality explosion. HORIBA MIRA has developed an automated closed-loop toolchain to tackle this problem. This software toolchain creates, selects, and executes scenarios in closed loop. The performance of the System under Test (SUT) is assessed on each concrete scenario and is aggregated to the previous results to select the next concrete scenario. This allows for an efficient testing of the problem space.
