Our TIARA workshop was part of a two-day event with CEDR’s Programme Executive Board (PEB), during which we discussed the importance of tailoring TIARA findings to diverse NRA stakeholders, strategies for improving data dissemination through appropriate formats and language, the need for robust quality control measures to enhance user trust in traffic data, and balancing data transparency with privacy under GDPR guidelines. Additionally, we explored the challenges of achieving ubiquitous network coverage, the societal value of expanding connectivity for road safety, and the implications of selecting between short- and long-range communication technologies to future-proof infrastructure for automated and connected mobility.
