ANDREW ASHBY APPOINTED VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS INNOVATION NETWORK (AESIN)

The rapid growth and success of AESIN enters a new phase as Andrew Ashby brings a wealth of additional experience and skills from the sector to enable the next step in expansion and deliverables to members.

AESIN is recognised by the UK Auto Council as a valued group that ‘deliver value’ bringing considerable experience and ‘know how’ in the Electronics Systems space; aligned with the strategic vision and activity of the council.

As Andrew takes on the role of supporting the development and steering of the five AESIN Workstreams (Connected Corridor, Security, More Electric Powertrain, ADAS and Software ), AESIN Chairman Alan Banks will move his focus to strengthen engagement and connections with UK Government and Industry leaders aligned with a common vision for success.

Alan Banks said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Ashby as AESIN Vice Chairman.  Andrew brings much needed additional experience and skills that will allow us to  accelerate the growth and deliverables of AESIN as the new Workstreams  of ADAS and Software launch in the start of Q3 this Year. This work will be vital in supporting the strategic targets set out by the UK Auto Council and I’m looking forward to seeing this bear fruit in the year ahead”.

AESIN members have already engaged in support of the UK CITE (Connected Intelligent Transport Environment) collaborative project and look forward to engaging in further collaborations linked to Intelligent Connected Vehicles and Electric Powertrain technologies. An encouraging response from innovative SME’s in the UK has led to a series of introductory meetings where vital contacts have been fast-tracked to accelerate the development and adoption of new innovative technologies.

We are delighted to welcome Andrew to this critical role bringing his considerable industry experience and ability as we build our portfolio of membership deliverables and strengthen our connections with key stakeholders such as C-CAV, APC and the UK Automotive Council.

AESIN is the UK focal point for Automotive Electronic Systems enabling critical collaboration opportunities across electronics and automotive domains. This is delivered through a range of Industry led activities including dedicated Worktreams which align with the strategic priorties and vision of the UK Autocouncil helping build a growing and sustainable Automotive sector.
