CAV Testing Infrastructure Event: 10:00 – 14:00

In the 2016 Autumn statement, the Government announced that up to £100m will be invested in new UK CAV Testing Infrastructure. This session will outline the vision and plans for how this investment will be delivered for the UK,

The UK has an opportunity to be one of the world’s premier development locations for innovative future vehicle technology, supporting our industrial strategy, and making vehicles that are safer, cleaner and more enjoyable. To achieve this, Government and Industry will work together to create the world’s most effective connected and autonomous vehicle testing ecosystem, integrating existing proving grounds and public road test sites across the UK’s existing automotive and technology heartlands, strengthening existing capabilities and creating new ones.

Innovate UK are managing a collaborative research and development competition on behalf of the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV).

Innovate UK and KTN are holding this event to help business understand the likely scope and opportunities of this competition. The funding will likely offer an opportunity for businesses of all sizes (micro, small, medium and large) as well as academics, researchers and public sector.

This Birmingham event will focus on the likely competition scope and offer some opportunity for consortia building, followed by a networking lunch.

This will also be available via webcast for those not able to attend in person. Click here to register for the webcast.

CAV Horizon Scanning Workshop: 13:00 – 17:00

The afternoon session will concentrate on horizon scanning for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs ). It will look at the programme so far, investigate the UK strengths, and look for gaps and further opportunities to boost UK capabilities. The output from this session will help influence future CAV competitions.

Please note that whilst the morning session is open to all, the CAV Horizon Scanning Workshop in the afternoon will be by invitation only. During registration you will have the opportunity to express your interest in attending and will then formally invited to attend.
